Portugal, who probably had the greatest impact on the continent, was not shy in invading what they thought to be profitable circumstances. One of these areas that they profited from was the kingdom of Kongo. Kongo was a major Bantu-speaking kingdom astride the Congo River in west-central Africa, probably founded in the 14th century. Introduction Theodore Robert Cowell, better known as Ted Bundy is one of the most well-known serial killers of the 20th century. Bundy took advantage of his good looks and charming personality to lure countless women. His regime began in Seattle, Washington in1974, until his arrest in 1978. The estimated murder count was from 30-100 victims. However, the final number is unknown until today. Childhood Ted Bundy was born at the Elizabeth Lung Home for Unwed Mothers in Vermont to a woman named Eleanor Louise Cowell. His father was never identified; Eleanorââ¬â¢s family suspected that her abusive father was Bundyââ¬â¢s biological father. Bundy was raised by his grandparents, and was unaware that the woman he knew as his sister was in fact hisâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The disappearances of many UW students began to worry the detectives of the Seattle department. However, the physical evidence that was left behind was little to go on. In November, of 1974, Carol DaRonch was lured into Bundyââ¬â¢s VW bug automobile. While Bundy was struggling to place handcuffs on DaRonch, she was able to escape. Her survival would later assist police in the Bundyââ¬â¢s arrest. The Evidence In late 1975, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a King County police officer came across a suspicious VW bug car parked in a suburban neighborhood. As the officer approached the vehicle, it drove off. The officer succeeded in pulling Bundy over, requesting to search his vehicle, and Bundy complied with the officerââ¬â¢s demands. As the search progressed, the police officer revealed a ski mask, another ski mask made from pantyhose, a crowbar, handcuffs, trash bags, a coil of rope, and an ice pick. Bundy claimed to the officer that the ski mask was for skiing and the other tools were just found. However, the officer recalled a similar suspect and same car description from a kidnapping victim who luckily survived Bundyââ¬â¢s attack, and as result the Salt Lake City police placed Bundy on 24-hour surveillance. The detectives who were assigned to the case learned that Bundy was a person of interest in Seattle; they flew to Seattle to interview his ex-girlfriend.
